Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information
Last updated: April 25, 2026
Warrior Wives Prayer Ministry ("WAWPRAM," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Warrior Wives mobile and web application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it's used, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. We follow Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and apply the spirit of GDPR for our members in the UK, Europe, and North America.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, username, email address, password (stored hashed — never in plain text), date of birth, country, and home branch.
- Profile content: profile picture, posts, photos, videos, comments, reactions, and prayer requests you submit.
- Communications: messages you send in groups, chats, or to the admin team.
- Payment details: for donations, conference registrations, and counselling sessions, our payment processor (Paystack) collects card or mobile-money details directly. We receive only the transaction reference, amount, and currency — never your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Device info: device type, operating system, app version, and language settings — used to deliver the right build and diagnose crashes.
- Push token: if you opt in to notifications, we store the Firebase Cloud Messaging token for your device so we can send you devotionals, prayer reminders, and meeting alerts.
- Usage data: basic analytics (pages opened, features used) to improve the app. We do not sell this data and we do not run advertising trackers.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your member account
- To send the daily verse, devotionals, prayer requests, event reminders, and birthday greetings (you can turn these off in Settings)
- To process donations, conference registrations, and counselling bookings — and email you a branded PDF receipt
- To enable fellowship features: feed posts, group chat, prayer requests, @mentions, and reactions
- To verify your email when you sign up or change your address (a 6-digit code is sent to confirm it's really you)
- To respond when you contact the admin team via the Contact page
- To keep the App secure — detecting suspicious sign-ins and preventing abuse
3. What is public, what is private
Your phone number, email, password, and date of birth are private.
Other members can only see your name, username, profile picture, branch, and content you choose to post (feed posts, prayer requests, comments). They cannot see your contact details.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We share data only with the third-party services that make the App work:
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage (servers in the EU/US)
- Vercel — hosts the web frontend
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications to your device
- Resend — sends transactional emails (verification codes, receipts, devotionals)
- Paystack — processes donations and other payments
- Cloudinary / Supabase Storage — hosts profile pictures and gallery photos
Each of these processors has its own privacy and security commitments and is contractually bound to handle your data only on our instructions.
We may also disclose information if required by law (a valid court order from a Ghanaian or relevant overseas court), or to protect the safety of our members.
5. How long we keep your information
- Account data: for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, your profile and posts are removed within 30 days.
- Donation records: kept for 7 years for tax and audit purposes (as required by Ghanaian law), even if your account is closed.
- Backups: deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently overwritten.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information (most fields are editable directly in Settings)
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of devotionals, reminders, or birthday greetings
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with Ghana's Data Protection Commission if you believe your rights have been violated
To exercise any of these rights, email info@warriorwivesprayerministry.org. We'll respond within 7 days.
7. Children
The App is intended for adult members of the ministry (18+). Warrior Kids and Warrior Youth content is delivered through parents' accounts. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove the account.
8. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard measures: HTTPS encryption in transit, encryption at rest on Supabase and Cloudinary, hashed (never plain-text) passwords, role-based access controls so only authorised admins can see member-wide data, and routine security reviews. No system is perfect, but we will notify affected members within 72 hours of any confirmed data breach involving personal information.
9. International transfers
Our hosting providers (Supabase, Vercel, Google) operate globally. Your information may be processed on servers outside Ghana — typically in the EU or US. We rely on those providers' standard contractual clauses to ensure your data receives equivalent protection wherever it is stored.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll post a notice in the App and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
